Faith Mason (b. 1990) is a fashion photographer whose work explores emotion and is often executedthrough staged portraits. Her images are characterised by her use of naturallight and beautifully stripped back locations.  During her time ofstudy at the Arts University College at Bournemouth her work has developed froman interest in the unseen to an acquirement of a strong ability to captureintimate and subtle emotions. Mason is interested in capturing fleetingmoments, those which communicate a sense of human vulnerability. Being born inthe Cotswolds but subsequently moving frequently has cultivated an appreciationfor the fragility of time and since has been reflected through her work whichhas been described as having a nostalgic tone. An understanding ofthe power an image has in communicating a specific message has always been amotive in creating emotionally engaging imagery. Mason is particularly excitedwhen text and image are combined. The study of body language and emotion hasbeen key to Mason’s delicately poised images, and her enjoyment of semioticshas shaped her photographic style into producing deeply expressive images. Herquietly strong portraits communicate to an audience an overall sense of aparticular feeling.  Mason has shot award-winningcampaigns for House of Fraser and Young Astronaut and has gone on to shoot for emergingdesigner Kelly Love, helping ground her within the photographic industry. Herwork is due to be exhibited in The Gallery at AUCB (2012) and featured at CandidArts in London (2012) as part of the F.Thirtyeight collection.
